Had a nice cheap soup of the day dish. What I really wanted was a kids poutine but this was a very satisfying dish! Bread with melted cheese on a watery onion soup . Was very nice indeed !! Staff were polite.

It is located in a very nice area of the city, good to go for a walk after eating. We were seated immediately. Wheter you eat outside or inside, the restaurant has a nice view of the pier and the lake. We were helped by Oleg, the service was good and friendly. The food was yummy, they could be a little more generous with the fries. I recommend it.

This is by far my favorite place to get an authentic poutine in Quebec. If you are ever in Chambly stopping here is mandatory. It started as a fry truck before I was even born serving my parents off the chip wagon when they were kids visiting the basin. The ownership has changed hands many times and I've seen it go from a window you ordered from to a restaurant that you ordered at a counter and sat in a dining area right up to the "chez" version which had tablecloths and fancy waitresses serving you with high end cutlery. I'm very grateful to the latest owners for becoming a tavern style environment that invites people to relax and enjoy the atmosphere of the Richelieu river, the fort and the marina.... however it's very sad they don't offer a regular poutine dish here anymore. Only the photographed duck poutine which was ok...but at $27 each seems kinda silly and over dresses the most popular provincial dish of just three toppings...fries cheese curds and gravy. I hope the new owners read this review and comsider adding a standard large poutine back on the menu. Charge whatever you want and people will pay it to enjoy the view, but truthfully I didn't find the duck or pickled toppings really offered the same connection to the roots of this place and an homage to the simple dish that has kept them popular for more than half a century. I appreciate the attempt to add class, but I believe you stand a better chance of you offer both your take on it and the traditional metal container filled as it was in the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s...still your offering is far better than the previous management and I'm grateful for the changes made to make it feel more like home. You make the best poutine in the country...stick to what you do best and perhaps make it extra large like platter for two that costs $30...but offer what has always been offered please if not just for those of us that want to remember the history Thank you to the owners for keeping this spot alive, my grandfather Pierre Gauthier (local Chambly legend) loved this place his whole life. We came every time I visited. He passed recently, when I visited this year to see his new street in chambly named for his efforts in the war and after it I was so happy to be able to visit his favorite place still. Long live Marius! Even with my opinion on the glaring item missing from the menu you deserve 6 stars and always will.

We went on a Sunday noon Food was great! It was not so busy They have a nice terrasse and nice view even onside. The service was also great, I changed my order almost when it was ready and asked for no cheese and dressings, she told me they will try to remove it but they actually made the whole meal again to the spec we asked. my son was very happy! We had a pleasant visit, will remember this place each time we’re visiting Chambly.

We had a great experience here! The ambiance is very relaxing, with a beautiful view that’s perfect for enjoying a warm spring or summer day in Chambly. It’s a lovely spot to sit back and take in the scenery. I ordered the roast beef sandwich and it was absolutely delicious—tender, flavorful, and nicely presented. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the service was fast and efficient without feeling rushed. Everything came together to make it a really enjoyable outing. Definitely a place I’d come back to!

Food was pretty delicious. Service was great. The only thing was that we had to switch from the outside to the inside because of the abundant wasps surrounding the clients. We went mid afternoon, round 3 pm. There are a few natural and home tricks they can do to keep them away and maybe print a more appealing menu with pictures and such (contact me if you need help with that). Besides that, no complaints.

Restaurant Chez Marius Inc, nestled at 1787 Av. Bourgogne in Chambly, Quebec, stands as a cherished culinary landmark by the Richelieu River and marina. This restaurant masterfully blends history with contemporary charm, offering guests not just a meal but a genuine taste of local heritage alongside stunning waterfront views.

What truly defines Chez Marius is its dedication to classic Quebecois flavors with a refined twist. Known for its exceptional poutine — a dish that has evolved with the establishment from humble beginnings as a fry truck to a tavern-style eatery — the restaurant continues to honor this iconic comfort food, albeit in more inventive forms like their duck poutine. While some patrons long for the traditional rendition, the current offerings reflect the owners’ mindful balance of tradition and innovation.

The menu extends beyond poutine, showcasing hearty pizza and the beloved Fish and Chips, both served with an inviting warmth that speaks to the hospitality of the staff. Sangria and cocktails such as the Aperol Spritz complement these dishes perfectly, enhancing the relaxed, convivial atmosphere. Soups like the Soup of the Day and Onion Soup are simple yet satisfying, embodying the kind of cheap, comforting fare that Nim Ja appreciated—melting cheese over bread in a delicate broth that tastes like a hug on a plate.

Chez Marius also shines in its attentive service. Stories from customers reveal a team eager to accommodate requests, from modifications in meal ingredients to seating preferences. This attentiveness enhances the dining experience, making it seamless and welcoming.

Eating here doesn’t just satisfy hunger; it offers a chance to connect with Chambly’s rich history and vibrant local culture. Whether enjoying a sunset on the terrasse or relaxing inside with views of the pier and lake, the ambiance encourages lingering conversations and memorable moments. The balance of hearty Quebec dishes, refreshing drinks, and attentive service make Restaurant Chez Marius Inc a must-visit for anyone exploring the region or seeking comfort food elevated by a strong sense of place.
